When you need to cool off during the sweltering summer, there’s no better option than taking a dip in a pool—stylish vibes, tasty food and drink, and a lively scene only up the ante. So when temperatures threaten to break triple digits, check out these notable New Orleans hotels with pools that are open to both hotel guests and the public.

Some offer a chill place to relax on lounge chairs and take a dip; other swimming pools focus on mixing and mingling. From drink specials, day parties, and DJs in the French Quarter to spa-like environs Uptown—you name it, you’ll find it at these New Orleans hotel pools.

This stylish hotel boasts stunning architecture and a rooftop bar called Above the Grid with prime city views and a nice pool. Snag a day pass for $50, then relax with top-notch drinks and snacks like boudin balls and truffle fries. On weekends, upgrade to a cabana for four and you’ll get water and a bottle of prosecco or visit on Sundays to jam out to a poolside DJ.

The Ace’s vibey rooftop pool has loads of chairs, great views, and the kind of scene that wouldn’t be out of place in Austin or Nashville. The public can use the pool for $10 on Mondays through Thursdays, and $30 on weekends, starting at 9 am. Fuel up with shareable plates, pizzas, and sandwiches, and sip on everything from craft beers and frozen drinks to zero-proof options perfect for when the temps hit three digits.

Uptown
Sitting pretty on St. Charles Avenue, this 19th-century mansion is now outfitted in dreamy decor, luxe wallpapers, and a backyard pool that makes a serene hideaway perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. The boutique hotel is a mere 14 rooms, so there’s room for locals to visit the pool from 11 am to 8 pm for $30 during the week and $40 on weekends. There’s no re-entry, so stake out a spot and chill with drinks from the bar. On Sundays, enjoy poolside DJ sets.

Bywater
While it’s not a hotel, The Country Club is a no-brainer for anyone seeking out a summer pool party. Lush and landscaped, the Bywater bar and restaurant is a 21+ destination with some of the liveliest crowds and latest hours around. The pool stays open until 11 pm daily, and a day pass costs just $20. Snack on treats like crawfish beignets or tasty salads and sandwiches while making new friends.

Mid-City
Probably the coolest spot along the Tulane Avenue corridor, The Drifter provides one of the city’s more unique destinations for a pool party. Things heat up on the weekends, when it often gets loud and crowded with party-minded groups. Annual memberships are $300, and day passes start at $10. There isn’t a kitchen, but food vendors are present on most days. Keep an eye out for special themed parties or DJ sessions.

French Quarter
If you’re looking for more pool and less party, check out the newly renovated Hyatt Centric. Day passes start at $30, meaning you can escape the French Quarter craziness and work on your tan for the cost of a couple hurricanes. Casting Call restaurant whips up light bites and cocktails for poolside enjoyment on Wednesdays through Sundays.

A day at The Pool Club involves much more than just a dip. The rooftop views are amazing, DJs spin cool summer tunes, and pop-up events are frequent occurrences. Enjoy cocktails and bites while you chill. A pool pass is $30 weekdays and $50 on weekends, and for a sweet deal to kick off the week, Mondays are just $10. Seating is first come first served, but you can gather your friends and reserve a VIP poolside area for $200.

French Quarter
When summer rolls around, Sonesta Sundays should be on every calendar. Every Sunday from 2 to 6 pm, the Royal Sonesta offers a summer respite in the Quarter. Head to the pool deck, which is open to the public, for live entertainment, a full bar, frozen daiquiris, and grilled menu selections. A $35 pool pass includes towel service, discounted valet parking, and complimentary wi-fi.

This historic hotel is known for the Sazerac Bar (and its signature namesake cocktail), but the rooftop pool is another reason to check it out. The pool is a little oasis with city views, a hot tub, and a poolside menu with a signature frozen drink called the Frozevelt. A day pass costs $65 on weekdays, $130 on weekends. Kids are welcome too, for an additional $35. So while it won’t be a full-on party, it’s a serene place to cool off and relax.

French Quarter
Tucked away in the heart of the French Quarter, the beautiful courtyard and pool at the W New Orleans is a secluded place to unwind from the surrounding chaos. Locals are welcome for $45 a person during the week or $60 on weekends. A pool menu is available from the hotel’s flagship restaurant, 3rd Block Depot Kitchen + Bar.
